SD Projects is a research-led architecture and design studio that brings academic inquiry into direct relationship with the built environment.

We approach design as a way of producing and applying knowledge—investigating how materials, places, communities, and cultural histories can inform more sustainable and inclusive ways of building. Our commissioned projects are both practical and investigative, providing opportunities to test ideas through buildings, public spaces, materials, and cultural programmes.

This work is supported by wider research into environmentally responsible materials, overlooked histories that have shaped Britain, and the thoughtful use of emerging technologies to engage with cultural knowledge. By combining rigorous enquiry with material experimentation and real-world delivery, SD Projects turns research into tangible forms with lasting public value.
