Intersections 1.0 Seminar

Our Intersections 1.0 seminar brought together an inspiring cross-section of voices from across disciplines and communities, creating a powerful space for reflection, dialogue and shared learning. We were honoured to host contributions from Dr Omniya Abdel Barr, Shahed Saleem, Shahin Chowdury, Faruk Miah, Hoy Cheong Wong, Jonathan Watkins and Cat Rossi.

We were joined by delegates from Napier Friends, Napier Drop-In, Kent Refugee Action Network, and Amala Education, alongside local councillors, representatives from Al Tajir Trust and Leas Lift, as well as architects and students from across the region. Most importantly, members of the wider Islamic community and unaccompanied refugees from across East Kent were present at the heart of the conversation.

Together, we shared reflections, creative outputs and research emerging from Intersections 1.0, laying both the intellectual and emotional foundations for the next phase of the programme. The forum was not only an exchange of ideas, but a moment of solidarity, friendship and a collective commitment to building a more inclusive civic culture.
